Smit, Abraham. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 31, 2023 at the age of 94 at West Haldimand General Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Egberdina. Loving father of John and Donna Smit, Walter and BettyAnn Smit, Aggie and Ron Marr, Margaret Smit, Diane and Scott Phillips, Abe Smit, Joanne and Kevin Vanderlee, Julie and Chuck Veldhuis. Cherished grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Abraham is also survived by brothers and sisters in Holland. Predeceased by his daughter Jane Erikson, grandson David Smit and great grandson Gabriel Brouwer. Family will receive friends from 12 pm -1 pm on Friday February 3, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home, 19 Talbot Street, Jarvis. Private family funeral service will take place, followed by interment Knox Presbyterian Church Cemetery. If so desired, donations to Jarvis Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
