Obituary for Christopher Jeffery Stanton Fowler

Fowler, Christopher
Christopher Jeffery Stanton Fowler passed peacefully at his home with family at his side on Friday, March 19, 2021, after a short illness. Beloved husband of Olive (nee Waring) for nearly 70 years, in his 93rd year. Loving father of Kelvin and her husband Alastair Lewin, Andrew and his wife Mariette, Simon, and Paul and his wife Audrey. He was the grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Christopher was born in Beckenham, Kent, England in 1928 to Stewart and Ada (nee Saker) Fowler. He attended Harper Adams Agricultural College in England and he met Olive at a social event organized by the school. They married in Bootle, Liverpool in 1953 and immigrated to Canada in 1957. They initially lived in Quebec but moved to Ontario in the late 50's. Christopher worked a couple of jobs before being hired by Shaver Poultry Breeding Farms in what was Galt at the time. With Shavers he was sent overseas to operations in India, Holland, and Germany living in each country for a time. The family returned to Canada in 1967 and settled into Glenmorris. Christopher continued to travel extensively overseas as a member of the technical service team with Shavers. He developed a love of gardening and was never so happy as when he could get out in the garden in the spring. He was also a keen stamp collector and enthusiastic wood worker.
There will not be a funeral service for Christopher at this time, but in the future, when gathering restrictions have been lifted, a memorial service will be planned and announced (to be notified of this service, please choose “Sign Up for Notifications” immediately below this obituary on the Book of Memories website at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca) Interment of the cremated remains will be in Glenmorris Cemetery at a later date.
