Obituary for Donald John Eustace

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald John Eustace in the early morning of September 29th, 2021 at the General Hospital CCU Unit in Hamilton.
Born on October 4th, 1932 in Ottawa, he was the eldest son of Albert Eustace (Cornwall, England) and May Ellis (Berkshire, England).
Forever loved and treasured husband of Christel for 44 years. Much loved father of Wendy (Len), Lynda (James), Mike (Linda), Carrie (Rodger), Ina (Brian) Muller and Mark (Lisa) Muller. Cherished and loved grandfather of Aaron, Katrina, Layne, the late Sebastian, Thea, Averaam, Savanah, Portia. Beloved great grandfather of Luna, Oisin, Aedan, Brannon, Owen and Ella. Brother of Michael (the late Joan; Madeline) and Mary Rose (the late Gil). Predeceased by his brother Richard (Marj).
Don was ordained in the Anglican Cathedral in Quebec City and served parishes in the Eastern Townships, Diocese of Ottawa and Niagara. He was truly grateful for each day, loved his calling and life fully. He was an honourable, faithful, kind, loving good man with great integrity. He had a terrific sense of humour, a zest for life and a love of people. Don’s inquisitive, curious nature and continued desire to remain informed ensured he was always on top of current events. He could speak with authority on almost any topic and was always willing to listen to others to expand his knowledge before sharing his ideas on a subject. His natural and easy manner would soon charm most into loving him with ease. Generous to a fault there was no person he would not talk to or offer support or a kind word. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends who came to know and love him.
Profound appreciation and gratefulness to Dr. A. Ingram for having Don in his care for 22 years. Many thanks to the team of nurses and technicians at the Nephrology Department of St. Joseph’s Healthcare – King Campus, Hamilton General Hospital and St. Joseph's CCU units as well as Emergency and Paramedic personnel for their care and compassion.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Interment of cremated remains in Selkirk Union Cemetery will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to COOPER FUNERAL HOME, Jarvis (519-587-4414)
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (www.kidney.ca) in memory of Donald Eustace. Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca
