Obituary for Don Sherk

Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of his godly ones.
Peacefully at Hagersville Hospital on November 24, 2022 in his 82nd year. Loving husband of Joan Sherk (nee Hoover) for 59 years. Cherished father of Christopher (Teresa) and Michael (Tracy). Beloved grandfather of Jacob (Stephanie), Courtney, Connor, Scott, Matthew, Jason, Sarah, the late Tyler. Great grandson Darius. Brother-in-law of †Madeline Clarke, †Ross (†Elva) Hoover, Doris (†Floyd) Held, Milton (Sharen) Hoover. Brother of Carol (Floyd) Moerschfelder, †Donna (twin) (Leo) Fess, Robert (Sharon) Sherk. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Don worked at Stelco for 10 years and OPG Nanticoke for 33 years. Don was a devoted member of the Church of Christ Christian Chapel all his life. He was an avid gardener, outdoorsmen and enjoyed his hunting Cabin in Madawaska (Taj Mahal). Don held his community close to his heart. A visitation for Don will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 1-3p.m. at Church of Christ Christian Chapel Selkirk. Service to follow in the Chapel. Private interment at the Selkirk Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Campfire Circle (formerly Camp Trillium) would be appreciated by the family.
