Obituary

Peacefully, at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, on Monday, September 21, 2020, 4 months shy of her 100th birthday. Eunice was the wife of the late Harry Parker (2010). Loving mother of Marilyn Husted. Grandmother of Tegan Husted, Heather Carlson, and Torin Husted. Sister of Gladys and Arthur Pitcher, George and Lorraine Parker and Frederick Parker. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis on Sunday, September 27 from 2-4 pm. Due to COVID restrictions on gathering size, those attending the visitation are asked to speak to a parking attendant and be prepared to wait in your vehicle until invited inside. Masks or face shields are mandatory at all times while inside the funeral home. A graveside funeral service for Eunice will be held at Oakwood Cemetery on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 11 am. Those attending the graveside service are asked to remain in your vehicles until the funeral vehicles arrive. Eunice with her husband Harry were long-time residents of Norfolk. Her love of music and piano playing was evident to all who heard her play. She was a pianist at The Salvation Army in Simcoe and for many years, entertained and led singing at the Simcoe Seniors' Centre. After she moved to Cedarwood Village, she would play the piano there in her own unique style, bringing a smile to the faces of those who heard her. Donations to the charity of your choice in memory of Eunice would be appreciated. Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca

Our Condolences on the passing of Eunice

My memories of Eunice goes back many years.

I remember the times when we got to gather at Bill and Faith Wilsons for singsongs. Sometimes it was to sing Hymns and choruses, and sometimes to sing some of the old WWI and WW2 songs, and sometimes both, that I know she loved to play. Faith and Eunice would take turns at the piano, because the songs went on for hours. Sometimes when she played "It's a long way to Tipperary" my memory would go back to when I was about 7 years old and I would stand watching or sometimes walking along beside the soldiers as they marched along Agriculture Street (now South Drive) and hear them singing and see them in my mind as they marched a long, singing "It's a long way to Tipperary".

When she took her turn playing piano for the Hymns in Church I though I could hear little bits of the old war song melody's creeping in near the end of the hymn.

We are praying for your family at this difficult time.

Walter and Teresa Wilson
