GERBEN (GEORGE) VANDERSLUIS, beloved husband, Dad and Pake passed away peacefully at Parkview Meadows Christian Retirement Village in Townsend on January 29, 2022 at the age of 90. He and his wife (Yfke Scholte deceased 1999) immigrated to Canada in 1953 from Friesland, the Netherlands. He owned and operated a dairy farm near in Simcoe. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his children Aagje (Aggie) Collins, son in law Ed Collins, Gail and Ralph Hofland, Tina (deceased 2020) and Jack VanNetten, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Frances (Douwes) Vandersluis of Townsend and her 5 children, 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his many brothers and sisters and their families. The funeral service will be held at the Jarvis Christian Reformed Church at 11 a.m. for anyone wishing to pay their respects and the Church service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 4th, 2022. (Those wishing to attend the service for George must RSVP through the funeral home website. Masks and physical distancing are required at all times when in the church.) The funeral service for George will be livestreamed on the Ebenezer CRC (Search YouTube for Jarvis CRC) YouTube channel for those unable to attend in person.
