To Eleanor and Family - How sad we were to hear of Harvey's passing. We so enjoyed seeing him both at Trinity Anglican Church in Simcoe as well as 5 Mill Pond Court. He was such a sweet man and a great neighbour. He will be missed by many. Our deepest condolences to all of you. Sincerely, Virginia and Susan Drayson

Dear Glen , Maggie and family
I send you my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your father. I recall meeting your father only once. The day we moved you and Maggie into the house on Hwy 8 West. So long ago but I remember how full of laughter he was when I remarked about the race car set you had in a box that we unloaded into the living room. I commented how cool it was that you Glen had a race car set. He laughed and said "No that's Maggie's!" And oh we laughed. Funny how certain things stick in your memories. That was a good day.
Cherish the memories. I know I do of our times working together at Hydro.
Stay well
Love and Hugs

Harvey Bassindale exuded a warmth, joy and acceptance that communicated itself eloquently and strongly to me as a young person. It was a confirmation that great people can be humble and upbeat. All of us who've met or known Harvey have been given something wonderful and enduring.

A couple of memories from Anne (Doughty) McMillan: I remember how well kept Harvey's cattle and stable were, when we attended 4-H Calf Club meetings in his barn. A lot of hours must have gone into making them look that way (maybe Glen & Gayle have some understanding of that!). Also, I was so grateful, when Harvey, as sheriff, got me out of the only call I ever had for jury duty. It was not long before the birth of our daughter and I was not looking forward to serving.
Ian took Harvey's place on the Wabisa Board (and served until the recent amalgamation with Norfolk Mutual to form Nova Mutual). We are thankful for a lot of memories and experiences that we otherwise would not have had.
Our deepest condolences to the Bassindale family.
