DONALDSON, Joyce Lillian. Peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital on Monday, March 1, 2021. Joyce Donaldson (Nee Dennis), in her 96th year, wife of the late Gerald (Bud) Donaldson (1989). Beloved mother of Linda (the late Joe) Misener of Port Dover, Jack Donaldson and wife Marg Richards of Port Elgin, and Rick Donaldson and wife Susan Cuming of Selkirk. Loving grandmother of Cara Antonisson, Phil Misener; Jodie Anderson, Amy Donaldson; Rebecca Visscher and Emmi Donaldson. and great grandmother of 9 great grandchildren. Sister of the late Howard Dennis, Wray Dennis and Russell Dennis. Joyce was a country girl at heart. She enjoyed her years on the farm tending the animals, planting flowers, canning vegetables and driving tractor. She was a natural athlete who played baseball with the Simcoe Stars in a league that travelled into Michigan and New York State then in Selkirk for coach, Mac Smith. She loved to fish, snowmobile, alley bowl and lawn bowl and while curling, won the Diamond Seniors Championship in Ottawa. She spent many hours playing cards and cribbage with friends and always looked forward to gatherings with her large family. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERALHOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis, on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. (Those wishing to attend must RSVP through the funeral home website. Masks are required at all times when in the funeral home.) Due to COVID restrictions, a private funeral service for Joyce will be held at Cooper Funeral Home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. (The funeral service will be live-streamed on the funeral home Facebook page for those wishing to share with the family in this way. Interment Nanticoke Union Cemetery. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
