FRIESEN, Leona Joyce

Leona is pre-deceased by her parents Edith (Harnick) and Arthur Stone, husband Peter Friesen (2017), daughter Melody Simpson (1992) and grandson Michael Smith (2020). She is survived by her loving children, daughter Shelley Friesen and Leo Bissonnette, son-in-law Dan and Andrea Simpson and son Dwayne and Lori Friesen. Leona leaves behind her grandchildren Sherry Smith, Kyle (Allie) Simpson, Kent (Stephanie) Simpson, Danialle Simpson, Naomi Friesen and Julia Friesen. Great grandmother of Grace, Evan, Kale and Kaylin. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Bev Stone, Wynona Gifford, Fred Stone and the late Robert Gifford, Ruth, Bill, John (Ellen), Bob, Norman, Lorne and Doug Stone. Dear sister-in-law of Jessie Mater, Connie Friesen, Frank Friesen, Jim Friesen, and the late Kay (Elijah) Harp, Anna (Fred) Henderson, Joe (Queenie) Friesen, Abe Friesen, John Friesen, Joan Friesen, Peggy Friesen and Jim Mater. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and her Bluegrass family. Leona was a proud member of the Rebekah Lodge (Port Dover) for over fifty years. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Norfolk General Hospital and the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their special care and compassion that was given. As per Leona's wishes, cremation has taken place with private interment to follow. Due to current circumstances, a celebration of life will follow at a later date. For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Leona's memory, we ask that you consider the Port Dover Harbour Museum in memory of Michael John Smith. Arrangements entrusted to COOPER FUNERAL HOME, Jarvis (519-587-4414). Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca
