Obituary

At West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville on Friday, April 30, 2021. Madeline Smith (Nee Rivett), in her 91st year. Wife of the late Bruce Smith (2007). Beloved Mother of Donald and Renee of St.Catharine's, Judy and Dan VanMaele of Langton, Ralph and Patti of Fisherville, Ross and Kim of Stoney Creek, Paul and Cathy of Fonthill, Joanne and Tom Whattam of Hamilton, Carol and John Trebych of Fisherville. Loving grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Martha Cotnam of Timmins, Violet (the late Harold Baker) of Caledonia, the late Vera (Ross Mason) of Scarborough, Dorothy Millions of Hamilton, Sylvia Rivett and the late Fred of B.C., the late Elmer and Betty Rivett and the late Gordon and Shirley Rivett. Predeceased by grandson Darryl Carruthers. A private family service will be held at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, Jarvis on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 11 am. Both the chapel service and the graveside service at Garnet United Church Cemetery will be livestreamed on the funeral home Facebook page. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. The family are very appreciative of the care mother received at RVilla in Caledonia. Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca.

We send deepest condolences to all the Smith family . I have such wonderful memories of the times spent with my Mom and Dad at the Smith farm. Aunt Madeline and uncle Bruce were just wonderful people , I loved them both. Not to mention I am the name sake for which I am pleased to be.
