Obituary for Max Garth Ryerse

Peacefully, at Sakura House, Woodstock, while Eileen, his loving wife of 44 years, read him the 23rd Psalm, Max was Promoted to Glory on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in his 66th year. Max will be deeply missed by his wife Eileen (nee Beattie), his children Colin and Lindsay and his granddaughter Hanna. Beloved brother of Ralph (Cherrie), Robin (Marilyn) and Brian (Cindy). Son-in-law of Barbara Beattie and brother-in-law of Karen (Ken) Costello, Diane (James) Read and John (Elaine) Beattie. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Wilbur (2000) and Lillian nee Hoisington (2008), his sister Gwyneth (1968), his brother Bert (2011) and his nephew Joel (2013). Max touched many lives through his careers at Sears Canada and Norfolk Disposal and through his involvement in The Salvation Army band. He was a kind, patient and gentle man who will be missed by all. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at The Salvation Army Simcoe Community Church, 184 Colborne Street North, Simcoe on Thursday, November 25 at 11 am. Masks and physical distancing are required at all times when at the funeral home and church. Registration is required to attend the funeral service. Please RSVP through the funeral home website. Cremation to follow. A private family graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe, at a later date. If desired, donations to Sakura House would be appreciated by the family.
