Obituary for Michael William O’Dwyer

After a short illness and with his loving wife at his side, Mike died at Norfolk General Hospital on Friday, February 4, 2022, in his 67th year. He was the loving and supportive husband of Debbie (nee Anderson). Mike will be forever missed by his children, Robert, Heather (David), Sarah (Sarah), and Stephen (Ashley). Predeceased by his parents Dan and Doreen O'Dwyer, sister Susan O'Dwyer, and uncle Steve O'Dwyer. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Mary and Harold Reichheld, Joe Gallea (Susan - decd.), Rita and Vince Gallea, Anne and Dave Matthews, Irene and Ed Steinhoff, Paul and Maureen O'Dwyer, Daryl and Kerry Anderson, Derek and Tammy Anderson, and son-in-law of Shirley and the late John Anderson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved. Mike grew up on the family farm outside of Jarvis, attended Port Dover High School, and earned his BSc in Chemistry from the University of Waterloo. Mike chose to spend his life in farming and construction. Over the years, Mike was an active member of the Knights Of Columbus, Norfolk Federation of Agriculture, and ALUS (Alternative Land Use Services). Mike's loves were his family, farming, and nature conservation. He received the 2020 Long Point Region Conservation Stewardship Award. In recent years, he could be found with his wife Debbie and sister Anne as Mr. Fix-it at Port Dover Jewellery where he was co-owner with his wife. Mike was always happy to have a chat and visit with someone to discuss world politics, farming, and maybe share a joke or two. We will miss his outlook on life and his sense of humour.
