Obituary for Monica Irene "Monie" Montague (Stoneman)

Peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Wednesday, November 2 nd, 2022 in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late Leo Montague (2003). Loving mother of Marie and the late Ken Graham, Nick and Lynn, Neil and Maxine, Fred and Lorraine, Alice and Rick Miller, Ellen and Dennis Craddock. Grandmother to Greg (Sherry) Graham, Shannon (Mike) McCurdy, Patrick (Kathryn) Graham, Lee (Jeff) Bowen, Jason (Line) Montague, Eric (Miranda) Montague, Alison Willis, Amber (Phil) Helder, Jill (Todd) Binkley, Kristen Montague, Cheryl (Rob) Woolvett, Adam (Colleen) Miller, Jim (Marnie) Miller, Megan (Jason) Fabian, great grandmother to 29, great-great grandmother to 3. Monica was a devoted mother and grandmother. She knew all of our names and all of our faces. She is survived by her sister Frances Montague, and in-laws Helen Bokros and Bernie Montague and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Joseph, Edward, Jack and Paul and in-laws Ray and Monica, Madeline, Nick and Norene, Joe and Virginia, Marguerite and Charles, Marion and Dick, Eugene and Audrey and Jerry. Monica was a charter member of both the St. Mary’s-St. Ann’s Catholic Women’s League and the WHGH Auxiliary. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. (A C.W.L service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 3:30 pm). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Jarvis on Saturday, November 5 at 10:30. Interment St. Ann’s Cemetery. If desired, donations to the W.H.G.H. Auxiliary or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
