Obituary for Shirley Ann Parsons (Reicheld)

Parsons, Shirley Ann (nee Reicheld). Peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Monday, November 25, 2019 at the age of 92 years. Predeceased by her husband Ward Clifford Parsons DFC (2000), her parents Frederick W. and Barbara (nee Ruch) Reicheld, sister Marjorie Reicheld and brother Glenn Reicheld. Cherished mother of Sylvia (late Harald Stolberg) of Port Dover, Shani (Harry Loewith) of Tavistock. Adored grandmother of Shawn (Kristin), Darren (Debbie),Kirsten (Jean), Natalie (Jonathan), Aaron (Kelly), Jeremy (Rebecca) and Isaac (Tess). Beloved great grandmother of Samantha, Ally, Valentina, Kaleb, Aiden, Adam, Benjamin, Jacob, Ava, Nathan, Noah, Leo, Lucas, Addi and Weston. Shirley will be missed by her 24/7 companion Peri. Shirley was born and raised in Jarvis, marrying her sweetheart Ward after his tour of duty flying the Lancaster Bomber in WWII. After the birth of their first daughter, Shirley and Ward moved to England where they enjoyed 47 years before returning to Canada and settling In Ancaster in 1994. After the passing of Ward, Shirley volunteered at the Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope where she was highly regarded by her fellow tour guides and visitors alike. The family wishes to thank Dr. H. Hynscht for his many kindnesses and exemplary care, the kind attentive staff at his office and the doctors and nurses at NGH in ICU, Ward 3B and the palliative care unit where she received the utmost care and compassion and the family received an unparalleled level of support and comfort. Cremation will take place followed by a family interment service at Riverside Cemetery, Cayuga. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum or St. Paul's Anglican Church, Jarvis, would be appreciated by the family.
