It is with a heavy heart that I wish to express my most sincere condolences to the entire Bartlett family for the loss of Vernice. For myself, my remembrances of Vernice are many, going back to paying Vernice, Bernice and their two young children (Marlene and that wild little guy Leroy) at the farm they lived on at the time at Nells Corners, I wasn't all that much old either. Then a number of years later Vernice coming down to where we lived asking Ben my dad if Dennis would be interested in going down to market in Hamilton to help sell Turkeys, and yes I was off with Vernice to sell turkeys in the big town of Hamilton, anything to see some place bigger than Lambs Corners at the time. Then as time went by, my father had passed and Bernice passed Vernice and as fate would have a number of years later two old friends found a new path forward together and for a short period of time that friend who lived down the road became a closer part of the lives of not only me but my brothers and sisters as well. It was so good to get back to Ontario back in early June to pay a visit to a man who has been a part of my life, a part I will never forget and appreciate the acceptance we felt from both Marlene and Leroy, and want them to know we feel your pain, God Bless.
