Jones, Greta Eva Edith. With family by her side, Greta (nee Dubeau) Jones of London has gone to join her loving husband Bill, in her 89th year from the Dearness Home, London, on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Wife of the late William H. Jones (1994). Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Mary (Paul) Garbes, Linda (Jim) White, Bonnie Jones, Catharine (Larry) Porter and the late Nancy (Harold Ford). Loving grandmother of Geoffrey (Louise) White, Philip (Jennifer) White, Kristopher (Colleen) Garbes, Scott (Jaimie) Porter, Benjamin (Jade) Porter, and the late David White (Nov.16, 1992), and Grant Porter (Jan. 27, 2003). Great grandmother of Emma and John White, Andrew and Brooke White, Samuel and Emma Garbes and Emily Porter. Sister of the late Beulah Williams, Clarence Dubeau and Rhoda Laurin. Also survived by admiring nieces and nephews. Greta served in WWII in the Canadian Women's Army Corps for which she was decorated. Her military career continued until 1968 at which time she joined the Faculty of Physical Education at UWO (now Western University) and became secretary to the Dean. Friends are invited to meet with the family at The Westminster Park Salvation Army, 190 Southdale Rd E, London on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Service for Greta will be held at Westminster Park Salvation Army on Saturday January 5th, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations to Westminster Park Salvation Army or the London Boys and Girls Club would be appreciated by the family. Friends are invited to send condolences to cooperfuneralhome.ca
