I grew up across the road from Dorothy (and live here yet today). Some of my early memories are of Bill's distinctive laugh that floated across the road on summer evenings, when he was courting Dorothy. Then, when I was 12, I joined the Cheapside Dairy Calf 4-H Club and Bill was my leader for 5 or 6 years. We had lots of fun and learning at meetings, worked on Caledonia Fair entries and for a year end party, went to Lee's Restaurant and a movie at the Tivoli Theatre in Hamilton, capping the evening with a milk shake at Hewitt's Dairy Bar. I think we did this twice, as I remember the movies were The Incredible Journey and The Sound of Music. This was a really big deal for us farm kids and I am truly grateful Bill's leadership and encouragement in 4-H. It was a huge influence on my life, my own children became 4-H members and I have been a volunteer for 24 years.
May he rest in peace.

Bill took me on my first moose hunt to Gogama.
I went on two fly in trips with him and my friends from Port Dover.
Bill was my Supervisor at Sprucedale Youth Centre for many years.
He was a Great mentor.
He taught me a lot.
I remember the last time we spoke, Dekonings roast beef dinner Wednesdays!
Rest in Peace Nabber.
You're a Great Man
